Yesterday, my girls requested nachos for lunch. I agreed, only to realize moments later that we were almost out of tortilla chips.
MOMMY: Girls, you can have nachos, but we only have the little chips at the bottom of the bag left. They’re going to be tiny nachos!
THE GIRLS: Yay! Tiny nachos! Tiny nachos will be great!!
Sometimes their perspective is surprising. Refreshing.
I saw the broken up chips as a negative. They saw it as a fun new twist on lunch.
Hidden in those tiny nachos was a choice. Without thinking my girls chose to see the glass as half full. They did so naturally, without a moment’s thought.
And I followed their lead.
The truth is, you can find tiny nachos in almost any day. The challenge is to see them through the eyes of a child.

Great perspective! Did you see Lindsey’s tiny birthday party for her daughter at The Pleated Poppy. Your girls would love it!

Oh Erin you’re always so encouraging to me! Sometimes I get bogged down in the negative and forget to see the positive. Thanks for this gentle and precious reminder to do so.
Refreshing perspective indeed. I love to be able to see the world through my two little ones too. Kids are truly an amazing gift from God.

You saw through their eyes, and they had their hope reflected back at them.

Aw, I love that… tiny nachos… Maybe that could become a new tradition. It’s a good way to get rid of the chips at the bottom of the bag.
You have sweet girls.

This is a great reminder! I often think sometimes God can’t use all the broken pieces of my life, but then I realize those are the parts of me that bring Him the most glory.

So true, Erin. Isn’t it amazing how children just look at everything so sweetly and innocently. When do we lose that? It’s awesome on days when we get it back, isn’t it.
Thanks for joining in on Mingle Monday this week. I hope your week is awesome!
