Changes

For what feels like entirely too long, our family has been in transition. It has been nine months since we returned to my home town. We had made different plans, but when things didn’t go the way we thought they would, we ended up here. The circumstances weren’t fun. But we could see God at work in the midst of it.

All along, we knew that my hometown was not where we were supposed to put down roots. This entire time, it has felt temporary and transitional.  So we have waited. And prayed….and waited. We didn’t know where we would go. It seemed like we explored every option, only to find no doors open anywhere…until it was time.

When God decides it’s time, He has no trouble making the pieces fall into place. We have watched Him do exactly that over the past few weeks. I’m incredibly happy to share with you that this weekend we are moving to Greenville, South Carolina.

Lots of things are changing for our family. We’re excited to see what God has in store!

I’m looking forward to what this means for my blogs as well. During these last months, I have really needed to focus on my life here at home, on building my design business, and on what the Lord wanted to teach us during this season. It’s been an emotionally exhausting time, and I just haven’t had the energy to write much at all. But I miss it. Hopefully I will be able to return to the routine of writing regularly once we get settled.

In the midst of all these changes, and after much prayer and consideration, I also have stepped down from my role at Gather Inspirit. I love the team members at Gather Inspirit, and I’m glad I was able to be a part of it. I have realized that I need to be much more intentional with how I spend my time, and juggling homeschooling, being a work at home mom, and writing for my own blogs is where I need to focus.

So that’s a little update on what’s going on here! We still have toys to pack and laundry always before us, so that’s all the writing time I have for today. I’ll be back after the move!

  4. I have been wondering about you dear friend. Though I too have been a bit sparse in blog land lately… juggling a new baby and home school and house work has left me saying more than once, “there literally are not enough hours in the day!”

For years I moved from one place to another, and I never seemed to make roots anywhere. Now I’ve finally lived in one house for 10 years. That’s the longest I’ve ever lived in one place.

  12. I am excited to see what God has in store for your family next! You have been so faithful. Your trust in the Lord has been an inspiration to me! So thankful for you, friend!

  13. Ellen says:
